City Scapes

Walking through the city I am in a permanently fascinated by the brown-gray faces of the buildings and streets. When the dark falls in, the play of lights intrique me. Actually, it always comes down to light; enlightened surfaces and shadows.

I am always trying to create a certain atmosphere. This is not necessarily a cheerful atmosphere. It's more like low spirited or sad. That's what makes mee feel good.

Many of the paintings are dominated by perspective and lines that divide the surface of the painting in smaller pieces.
